How very sad. I last spoke to David prior to the 10th March Rotary Business Meeting when I joined a conversation between himself and Mark Bendelow. The news of David's stroke was no great surprise in view of his recent history, but the CV19 infection certainly was. He did not appear unwell at the meeting though that may well have been because I was not expecting him to be. He was a likeable man with a quick and humorous wit behind a typical South Yorkshire exterior. David was helpful to me as a member of the Foundation Committee, his experience of Rotary being over a much longer period than mine, and I shall miss his company and advice. Rotary has lost a loyal servant. (David Saltmarsh)
